Well after asking a bunch of questions on other forums and still being a little confused, I have been directed here. Everyone says just get the JBS kit you will be happy. I believe I no doubt would be after reading all the great reviews. However, I would like to try a shim and a different secondary spring just to see what kind of difference it would make before I spend more money on the JBS kit. I will probably eventually get the JBS kit as I plan on getting 30" tires, Zillas or Monster mayhems, in the very near future. Currently I am running 27/9/14 and 27/11/14 STI mudtrax xl on a stock grizzly, (other than snorkels and an RDC lift which will be installed this weekend). So my questions are, if I add 1.5 shim and a secondary spring, which spring should I put it in it? I am not going to change weights etc, just the spring and the shim. If I try it and it is not satisfactory for me then I will be ordering the JBS kit anyway. Just thought I would try the cheap route first to see if there is any improvement. its not bad now stock with the 27's, but I wouldn't mind some more low end. Top speed is not a big deal as I rarely ride that fast anyway. Just trails and some mud/water mostly. The second part of the question is, if I change the spring (purple or gold or whatever) and add the shim, would that in itself be able to decently turn 30" tires? When I say decently, I know nothing will be as good as the JBS kit, but would it be feasible to comfortably ride for me. Again, I am not an all out mud rider. I ride a variety of terrain, and am just looking for a compromise. The taller tires are more for ground clearance than anything. Thanks for any and all suggestions in advance. And by the way if this topic is somehow posted twice, I apologize. I seemed to have lost the first one I typed while trying to post it.
